Rushgate! Winemaker Predicting Astronomic Demand for Pinot Noir

Cameron Winery Pinot futures again soared to their limits on the spot market as reports surfaced concerning columnist Rush Limabugh’s ill-fated midnight love tryst late Tuesday. While security cameras rolled, Limbaugh was seen in Fermenter #1 of the prestigious northern Oregon winery in the company of former Playboy centerfold Honey Dipt. Dodging accusations from the religious right, Limbaugh claimed mental confusion on the night in question; when pressed, he said he thought he was in a friend’s California winery where he’d been assured that a little cigar ash wouldn’t matter-it was cabernet anyway-and that the blonde was merely a cellar-worker who had entered the vat to replace a faulty valve.

John Paul, owner-winemaker at Cameron Winery, seemed unruffled by the whole affair as he calmly signed paperwork for a new Mercedes at a Portland auto dealership. Said Paul: ‘We certainly hope to see Rush again next vintage. Whaddya think Malachite green with the beige leather interior? Doesn’t clash with the knobs on the CD player, does it?”
