2010 Giuliano

In most vintages, this blend of white grapes is heavily influenced by the Friuliano (formerly Tocai friulano) grape. However, in 2010 the cedar wax wings and robins flew away with the entire crop of friulano! The blend therefore becomes one of Pinot grigio, Pinot bianco, Auxerrois and Moscato. As befits the vintage, this one ended up with bracing acidity that never-the-less finishes with ample flavors of pears, apples and perfume of moscato. It is a powerful wine even with an alcohol content of barely 12.5% and will cry for seafood or risotto. A mere 65 cases was produced.  No longer available at the winery, but may be found in select retail stores if you really search diligently!
